PRB Construction
We specialise in aluminium coach building. Our years of experience in the other various types of build have led us down this route. We found, over the years, that it was our job to offer the client strength, being of paramount importance allied to style, taking in necessary features such as insulation and above all an ability to effectively repair any damage that may be occasioned later in life. To this end, our present exception of the steel frame inside the aluminium clad ramp and the steel bearer on the back of the vehicle that carries that said ramp and springing mechanism. We would take the view if you are asking a ramp to effectively support half a ton horse or more jumping on and off it, the integrity needs to be of the utmost consideration and for this we have elected to stick with our steel frame skeleton to the ramp. Apart from this section the entire remainder is an aluminium base construction, both sides and roof. We have integrated this with a Styrofoam insulation package to both sides and roof that gives obvious comfort to human and equine travelers.
It is important in equine travel that there is free flowing ventilation and minimal and heat ingress on hot days and heat loss on cold days thereby enabling the horses to travel at a constant temperature. Further, it helps dramatically to keep down any external noise.
The internal walls are lined with a high quality hardwood plywood designed to withstand damp and wet conditions that is further coated and sealed thereby making it horse proof. This coating ensures a clean, airy, desirable environment that is easy to clean with a coating that makes it user friendly for both equines and humans again easy to clean. |

The floor and bearers are of aluminium construction thereby eliminating any form of future rot problems. These are covered by 17mm loose lay rubber matting to cater for the biggest horse with the worst studs ( I know everybody will say we don't load with studs but experience shows otherwise). Edged and capped with urine trough with outlets. The entire horse area is constructed of materials that cannot and will not be affected by water ingress. The partitions are all stainless steel with machine grade nylon sliders thereby eliminating rattle, plastic side pads, rubber skirts, stainless steel blanket rack, stainless steel window bars giving an environment very user friendly for cleaning later.
The roof is a monocoque construction with radial edged 40 mm box bearers all covered by a one piece aluminium skin which encapsulates a 40 mm Styrofoam insulation panel. This being made thicker than the sides by nature of the fact the roof is obviously exposed to more sunlight and associate heat. |
